Empowering Responsible Vapor Product Disposal

Transforming Solutions in a Transforming Business

The Reynolds American organization’s transformation from Combustibles to New Category products brings additional challenges – products with different environmental profiles, such as vapor products containing lithium-ion batteries, and changes to resource use. Our operating companies are consistently working to improve circularity and to create less overall waste.

We care about what happens to our products after they are used, and our goal is to eliminate waste in our environment by providing an accessible method for responsible disposal. In partnership with leading recycling organizations, our operating subsidiary, R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company, provides recycling options for vapor products and pods.

Our partnerships with specialty recycling organizations, Call2Recycle and g2 revolution, provides a means to responsibly dispose of vapor pods and devices in compliance with all local laws and regulations at no cost to adult consumers.

Vapor Product Take Back Programs

Waste is one of the greatest challenges facing our business and planet, and we take great care in reducing waste and the environmental impact of our operations. R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company has two take back programs in place to collect used devices and vapor pods from adult consumers across the U.S.

Our partnership with Call2Recycle®, the U.S.’ largest battery recycling program, aims to optimize the collection and end-of-use management of vapor products power units. Adult consumers can drop off their used vapor products at no cost to divert waste and prevent improper disposal.

Our partnership with g2 revolution® accepts Vapor pods,  Vapor tanks, and  Vapor cartridges. g2 revolution® is a specialty recycling solutions organization, providing a means to responsibly dispose of vapor devices in compliance with all local laws and regulations at no cost to the adult consumer.

Call2Recycle

Call2Recycle® is the USA’s largest, most reliable battery recycling program. On behalf of R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company and other corporate stewards, Call2Recycle® optimizes the collection and end-of-use management of e-cigarettes, batteries and other materials.

Improperly disposed batteries can harm the environment, people, and property. Call2Recycle® offers an alternative to improper battery disposal, helping the environment pollution and materials going to landfill.

Adult consumers can drop off used e-cigarette power units for free at thousands of accessible, convenient locations across the U.S. These locations can be easily identified by checking https://www.call2recycle.org/locator/.

Call2Recycle® accepts e-cigarette power units so long as e-liquid cartridges are separated from the e-cigarette power units. On average, 70% of the weight of our vapor power units consist of materials that Call2Recycle® can reuse to make new products.

This partnership demonstrates R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company’s nationwide commitment to environmentally responsible disposal of batteries. Visit Call2Recycle® to learn more.

g2 revolution®

We care about what happens to our products after they are used, and our goal is to eliminate waste in our environment by providing an accessible method for responsible disposal.

What does g2 revolution® do?

g2 revolution® recycles vapor pods, tanks, and cartridges, and repurposes leftover e-liquid rinse water through a waste-to-energy program. This partnership provides a means for vapor devices to be responsibly disposed of in compliance with all local laws and regulations, at no cost to the adult consumer.

What does R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company consider to be responsible disposal?

Responsible disposal includes both recycling and incineration with energy recovery. ’Recycling’ refers to processing of material that converts waste materials into recycled materials or products. Landfill and incineration without energy recovery do not constitute responsible disposal. To request a recycling envelope, visit g2 revolution®.

A circular economy means innovating to use fewer resources, create less waste, and reuse and recycle products to create a self-sustaining ecosystem of materials. Through take back programs and adult consumer education, we strive to minimize waste through increased product recovery and recycling.
